WA Department Of Health Credential Monitor Program – 10 User License

A custom piece of software I developed myself to ensure all Department of Health licensed staff we employed at Island Drug were current.

Feature List:

• Weekly Scan of all users
  • Warns via email (employee and HR contact) of upcoming license expiration one month out to prompt undertaking renewal activities
  • Notifies employee and HR contact if expired or otherwise not active
  • Fraud Prevention
    • Protects you against someone passing same and similar names or altering documents.
    • Why? Well, one striking example:
      “The most shocking part of the story is that she had performed the steps required by a pharmacist to verify 745,355 prescriptions at 395 Walgreens pharmacies, with many of these verified by remote electronic verifications.”
      This pharmacist never had a license to practice as a pharmacist (but did at one point as a pharmacy technician), and resulted in millions in fines.

    • This program checks weekly, comparing your HR data with state DOH records
      • if it finds a discrepancy in either name, credential type (ie pharmacist vs tech), or mismatched birth year (hinting at false identity), your HR contact receives an email.
  • Daily Monitoring of Changes to License Status
    • Daily monitoring of license status changes
      • Active/expired/suspended
      • HR contacted immediately
    • Daily status of Action Taken Indicator
      • if something is filed against a licensees credential, your HR contact will see it that day.
    • Daily monitoring of expiration date.
      • helpful to confirm renewal processing

This definitely provided peace of mind for me knowing we were ahead of the game in monitoring all DOH credentials in real-time.
